English Oral Examination (This Thursday, 2 November)



Remember to revise for your oral examination. Use the oral practice paper which you have gotten in class today to revise. Let's recap the points we have used to practise for our read-aloud and picture conversation today.

Read-Aloud Passage
1) Pronounce the words clearly
2) Read expressively
3) Good tone and appropriate pace
4) Loud
5) Stress on special words

Picture Conversation (Stimulus-Based Conversation)
1) Keep talking and sharing about yourself
2) Be confident!

Spend time to revise for your Mother Tongue Paper 2 (Tomorrow, 1 November) and oral examination too.

Revise For Examinations And Homework

Do be reminded that you have your following examinations next week. Remember to set aside time this weekend to revise for them.

Next Monday (30th October): English Language Paper 2
Next Tuesday (31st October): Maths
Next Wednesday (1st November): Mother Tongue Language Paper 2
Next Thursday (2nd November):   English Language and Mother Tongue Language Oral

Remember that for your Maths examination, all the topics which you have learnt in this year will be covered. We have been doing papers for practice and revising questions from every topic during lessons these few days. Remember to revise these topics at home too.

Home Based Learning (19 -24 October, Next Thursday to Following Tuesday)
There will be no school on the above dates as there will be PSLE marking exercise. Homework and computer assignments via MConline will be assigned to our children during this period. We will let the children know the homework next week.

All of our children have received a letter today regarding this Home Based Learning. I would like to have your help to sign this acknowledgement form and allow your child to bring it to school and hand in tomorrow.

Speech and Drama Programme and ZPS Shining Stars 2017
Today, each of our children has received 2 letters regarding the above. I would like to have your help to go through these 2 letters and note the following: 

Speech and Drama Lessons
There is a change in the Speech and Drama lessons for the following dates. Our children will report after school at 2.15 p.m. as per usual. However, they will be dismissed at 4 p.m. instead of their usual dismissal time at 3.30 p.m.

3) Wednesday, 8 Nov    

ZPS Shining Stars 2017 (Thursday, 9 November)
Our children will be putting up their Speech and Drama performance on Thursday, 9 November. We would like to invite all parents to come to school. Our children have put in much effort in their training since the start of the year and all of us would love to have you watch them perform on this special day. Your attendance will definitely root on for our children. Do come and join us if possible!

Children's Day Celebration (This Thursday, 5 Oct)


We will be celebrating Children's Day on this Thursday.
School reporting and dismissal time: As per normal
Attire: Fairy tale costume, or smart casual clothes, with school shoes
Examples of smart casual clothes: Shirt, shorts, pants, skirt, dress. Flip-flops, short skirts and shorts, cropped tops, spaghetti strap tops and jewellery are not allowed. 
Things to bring: Storybook, diary, pencil case, water bottle and a small bag

We will have class time in the morning before recess time. After recess, we will go to the hall to enjoy performance and more!

We will still have our spelling in the morning on Thursday.
